A modern climber must have restrained vigour, be free flowering, renew basal shoots, be firm petalled. It is more difficult to find truly suitable climbing roses than bush roses. I was delighted at this charming, small flowering HT rose we had on trial from Harkness, a British rose breeder. She boasts all these characteristics!
