Gwen Fagan

Gwen Fagan carried out a tremendous achievement in collecting the historic roses in the Western Cape, restoring them on some of the old wine estates and publishing a magnificent book describing and illustrating these glorious old roses.

In acknowlegement, we named one of the modern roses with the old look in her honour.  The plants grow into stately shrubs of 2 m high when the canes start arching and carrying clusters of large, double, fragrant blooms. Soon thereafter side-stems appear on the bows, each carrying more flowers.

The colour of the double and quartered blooms is a deep rose-pink, fading to a lighter hue.  The rose is very healthy and requires little maintenance.

Plant Height: Above 2m Height
Colours: Pale pink , Petunia pink , Pink
Uses: Cut-flowers, Pillar, Trellis
