Shirley Wallington

Shirley Wallington is well known for the extensive use of roses in the many gardens she designed in and around Johannesburg over many years. The rose selected to carry he name is indeed a superb landscape variety with an informal, shrub-like growth habit. The rounded buds are borne at the end of arching canes in clusters all over the vigorous shrub exuding a very strong sweet scent. They unfold their clean soft salmon pink petals slowly. It is a striking free standing shrub withy dimension of 2m x 2m, as also in large pots and are easily espaliered on moderate high arches, on fences or upright supports. The cluster-like stems may be cut for home decoration.
