Also known as Redoute.
Margaret Roberts is SA’s well known herb lady.
In ancient times roses were very much part of the herbalist’s collection and this rose is fitting to be grouped with herbs and other plants.
The excellent growth habit forms a robust, twiggy shrub that continuously branches to produce new flowers.
These are large, soft pink in colour, with round buds which open to form a shallow cup filled with many petals. The strong, Old Rose fragrance is its charm.
In addition to being a marvellous specimen shrub, it may also be planted as a hedge and even provide additional security if planted against a wall or fence.
The flowers can be used to make pot pourri, jams and can even be sprinkled in bath water.
