Antico Moderno Roses
With hundreds of other roses surrounding it in our test plot the air is saturated with rose scent & the nose does not smell it anymore. However, the distinctive sweet aromatic scent of this new rose drifts in the air. Strong upright bush producing deep open cup shaped blooms in loose clusters as well as individually to a stem. The petals are amazingly firm. Lasts well in vase when cut at the half open to open stage.
Green-pink guard petals protect the round buds as they unfold into a symmetrical egg shape, a lovely coral pink is revealed which intensifies as the flower exposes layer upon layer of narrow petals until the fully opened rosette shape of the old fashioned rose is reached. When picked at the half open stage, the blooms will unfold very slowly and the huge open blooms will outlast all other cut roses.
The bush grows vigorously into a tall, loosely spreading shrub, producing the long stemmed flowers from spring into winter. Will form a superb hedge.
She is a pickable, velvet-red rose with lovely old fashioned, romantic blooms. The unusual shape is formed by the petals curving inwards to produce a globular shape. What also sets this rose apart is the white streak on the five outer petals. Excellent garden rose which grows to chest height, bearing its blooms in clusters or on single stems. It is very hardy.
It was a great success managing to combine the elegant form of a rose of the last century with the re-blooming cycle, the vigor & the disease resistance of a modern rose. Most of all it has the particular fascination of delicate flesh pink suffused with apricot & a gentle, sweet perfume. A rose to remember & to love.
A modern antique rose producing long stems with mostly three medium sized, firm petalled blooms incurved in the centre displaying the nostalgic shape of the olden days. The colouring is a blend of silver and pink. They make superb cut flowers. The bush grows rigidly upright and mixes well in beds of hybrid tea roses.
Bearing beautiful, huge, long stemmed flowers in abundance, with fragrance and an unblemished longevity on bush or in the vase. The blooms’ colour is a delicate pink on the outside petals blending pleasantly with the distinct rose pink of the inside petals that deepens towards the centre. Modern urn shaped pointed buds keep on expanding as the inner petals unfold displaying an admiringly quartered bloom.
The bush has an extraordinary willingness to re-sprout from the base and the older wood, each stem just carrying one big bloom, providing colour and class. The neat upright growth habit easily reaches 2m. The disease resistant leaves decorate this ornamental rose from base to tip for most of the year. A true eco-chicTM rose.

Golden coloured, egg shaped buds open slowly into very large, full & quartered blooms of yester-year; many firm petals exude moderate fragrance; excellent as cut flowers to decorate the home; vigorous, neat growing plant; free flowering, robust rose, ideally suited in mixed rose beds, as small group plantings or even in bold mass beds.

‘Dikgang Moseneke’ is a red garden cutrose that will be equally suitable amongst hybrid tea roses or our new Antico Moderno™ range. The urn shaped buds of scarlet red develop slowly into large, very full blooms. They are long lasting and each are carried on strong stems. The bush is vigorous, grows to medium height and is very prolific.
