Deep rich crimson, quickly turning to a remarkable and equally rich royal purple.
The pleasing flowers are of a cupped rosette formation and have a very rich Old Rose fragrance.

The bushes grow relatively compact to about 1m high and are clothed with dusky, dark green foliage.
They are vigorous and rival modern Floribundas in their ability to provide a show in parks and gardens.
