The combo is best for curative application when red spider mites are already active in your roses. Specially for plants grown in pots. Please note that if you have red spider mite activity, you are most probably not applying enough water to your roses’ roots.
Spical is the tougher surviving mite and is best applied preventatively early in the season.
Spidex hunts the red spider mites but does not survive well once the red spider mite colonies have been decimated.

Spidex
Predatory mites Phytoseiulus persimilis
Use Spidex for:
- Two spotted spider mite
Packaging:
- 100 ml bottle with dosage-plug, containing 2,000 adults
- Each bottle contains adults mixed with wood-chips
When to use Spidex?
Use Spidex for biological pest control of two spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae). Spidex works well on all the life cycle stages of the two-spotted spider mite but prefers younger stages most. Use Spidex preventatively and at the first sign of pest presence.
How does Spidex work?
Phytoseiulus persimilis feeds on all stages of spider mites, but has a preference for eggs. The predatory mites pierce the eggs and consume the contents. Adult Phytoseiulus persimilis also attack adult spider mites but the smaller development stages only feed on smaller prey stages. The larvae do not eat. The predatory mite can only survive on two spotted spider mites (Tetranychus spp.).
Application Spidex
- Turn and shake the bottle gently before use
- Sprinkle material on leaves. It is almost like shaking salt onto food, except one tries to spread the carrier material and mites evenly onto your roses.
Best working conditions Spidex
Relative humidity should be above 75% and the temperature above 20°C for at least some hours of the day. Phytoseiulus persimilis does not enter diapause.
