Aphipar
Parasitic wasp Aphidius colemani
Packaging:
100 ml bottle, hatches 500 parasitic wasps / Each bottle contains mummies mixed with wood-chips
When to use Aphipar?
Use Aphipar for biological pest control of primarily:
- cotton aphid (Aphis gossypii)
- tobacco aphid (Myzus persicae var. nicotianae)
- peach-potato aphid (Myzus persicae var. persicae)
Aphipar is especially useful at the beginning of aphid infestations.

How does Aphipar work?
Adult female parasitic wasps lay their eggs parasitically in the aphids, causing them to swell and harden into leathery, grey/brown mummies. The first adult parasitic wasps emerge through a round hole at the rear of the mummy approximately 2 weeks after introduction.
Application Aphipar
- Spread the material in a shady spot, on a surface that will not get wet, close to your roses. A overturned ice cream container wedges open to cover the wood chips is practical.
- Make sure the material remains dry and is not moved from its introduction site for at least a few days
- Use the peel-off label to mark where the product has been introduced

Best working conditions Aphipar
Efficacy reduces at temperatures above 30°C.
Handling
Biological beneficials have a very short life expectancy and therefore need to be introduced into the crop as soon as possible after receipt. Failure to do so can have a negative impact on their quality. In case you do need to store Aphipar, please follow the instructions below. Koppert B.V. is not liable for any loss of quality if the product is stored longer and/or under different conditions than recommended.
- Storage after receipt: 1-2 days
- Storage temperature: 8-10°C
- In the dark

STICKY CARD HORIVER BLUE
Packaging:
10 of 25 x 10 cm double-sided sticky traps)
When to use Horiver?
Use Horiver to monitor and trap the adult aphids, leaf-miners, whiteflies, thrips and sciarids.
How does Horiver work?
The insects are drawn to the colour. They fly against the card and then they get stuck in glue.
Sticky traps are essential in the detection and partial elimination of many species of flying pests. Sticky traps make it possible to detect pests at an early stage and then use biological measures to combat them. This prevents unnecessary applications of chemicals.
Moreover, counting the captured insects on the sticky traps on a regular basis makes clear when pests are present, how fast their population is developing, and when their population is likely to reach its peak. In this way gardeners can be much better prepared for potential threats.
The cards have a grid which makes counting easier.
How to use Horiver
Hang the cards on a secure stick or stand and attach it with a suitable wire or string. The cards are sticky so wear gloves when handling them.
The method of attaching the cards should be done is such a manner that the card is not obstructed but also so that it does not tear through the material as it is blown by the wind.

Application Horiver
Instructions for usage:
- With regards to tall crops such as cucumber, tomato, pepper and roses, position the traps just above the top of the plant and adjust while the plants grow.
- When it comes to crops with a low canopy, support the traps by canes or wire holders and install them maximum 30 cm above the crop.
- The traps must be placed in areas where the risk of pest infestation is high.
Dosage
With regards to monitoring purposes, the advised rate is five traps per 1,000 m². If the traps must contribute to the biological control of pests in so-called hot spots (i.e. mass trapping), use at least one trap per 20 m² or at most one trap per 2 m².
Spical
Predatory mite Neoseiulus californicus
Use Spical for:
- two spotted spider mite
- fruit tree red spider mite (also European red mite)
- citrus red mite
- broad mite
- cyclamen mite
Packaging:
500 ml bottle, containing 25,000 predatory mites
Each bottle contains predatory mites (all mobile stages) mixed with inert carrier material
When to use Spical?
Use Spical for biological pest control of:
- two spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae)
- fruit tree red spider mite, also known as European red mite (Panonychus ulmi)
- citrus red mite (Panonychus citri)
- broad mite (Polyphagotarsonemus latus)
- cyclamen mite (Tarsonemus pallidus)
Introduce Spical if pest presence is suspected or at the first sign of pest presence. Use Spidex for hotspot treatment.
Precaution: application of this product can cause sensitization or allergic reactions, we therefore advise to take the necessary precautions.
How does Spical work?
Adult predatory mites, nymphs and larvae actively search for their prey and consume them.
Application Spical
- Turn and shake the bottle gently before use
- Sprinkle material on leaves. It is almost like shaking salt onto food, except one tries to spread the carrier material and mites evenly onto your roses.
- Neoseiulus californicus tolerates a range of chemical pesticides
- Always use Spical in conjunction with Spidex

Spidex
Predatory mites Phytoseiulus persimilis
Use Spidex for:
- Two spotted spider mite
Packaging:
- 100 ml bottle with dosage-plug, containing 2,000 adults
- Each bottle contains adults mixed with wood-chips
When to use Spidex?
Use Spidex for biological pest control of two spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae). Spidex works well on all the life cycle stages of the two-spotted spider mite but prefers younger stages most. Use Spidex preventatively and at the first sign of pest presence.
How does Spidex work?
Phytoseiulus persimilis feeds on all stages of spider mites, but has a preference for eggs. The predatory mites pierce the eggs and consume the contents. Adult Phytoseiulus persimilis also attack adult spider mites but the smaller development stages only feed on smaller prey stages. The larvae do not eat. The predatory mite can only survive on two spotted spider mites (Tetranychus spp.).
Application Spidex
- Turn and shake the bottle gently before use
- Sprinkle material on leaves. It is almost like shaking salt onto food, except one tries to spread the carrier material and mites evenly onto your roses.

Best working conditions Spidex
Relative humidity should be above 75% and the temperature above 20°C for at least some hours of the day. Phytoseiulus persimilis does not enter diapause.
